Double-lepton polarization asymmetries in Λ<Subscript>b</Subscript>→Λℓ<Superscript>+</Superscript>ℓ<Superscript>-</Superscript> decay in universal extra dimension model

Double-lepton polarization asymmetries in Λ_b→Λℓ⁺ℓ^- decay are calculated in the universal extra dimension (UED) model. It is found that numerous double-lepton polarization asymmetries are very sensitive to the UED model and therefore can be a very useful tool for establishing new physics predicted by the UED model. Deposition of thin electroplated Cd-Se layers

Cadmium-selenium alloys were electrodeposited from a sulfuric acid electrolyte. The effect of the H₂SeO₃, CdSO₄, and sulfuric acid concentrations, current density, and temperature on the composition and quality of cathode deposits was studied.     

Physical interpretation of the Kerr-Newman-Ernst solutions

A relation is determined between the physical quantities in the Kerr-Newman priming solution and the Kerr-Newman-Ernst solution transformed by using the Harrison solution. It is shown that this latter possesses a nonsingular horizon of events. The values obtained for the 4-potential of the electromagnetic field of the transformed solution is in a linear approximation in the magnetic field intensity.Translated from Izvestiya Vysshikh Uchebnykh Zavedenii, Fizika, No. 10, pp. 39–45, October, 1989.

Kinetics of thermoinitiated oligomerization of 3,3′-(2,4,6-triethyl-1,3-phenylene)bis(5-methyl-1,2,4-oxadiazole)

The crystal structure of 3,3′-(2,4,6-triethyl-1,3-phenylene)bis(5-methyl-1,2,4-oxadiazole), which models the cross-linking fragment of polynitriles by benzodinitrile oxides, was determined by X-ray diffraction analysis. The kinetic regularities of its thermoinitiated oligomerization were studied by isothermal calorimetry and spectrophotometry. The process proceeds with self-acceleration, and the Arrhenius dependences of the initial and maximum reaction rates were determined. The reaction accelaration is determined by an increase in the viscosity of the reaction medium. Possible mechanisms were proposed for oligomerization.
